In average conditions, exterior façade cladding panels should be routinely checked at least twice a year to determine if cleaning is required:

To prevent a build-up of dirt on your façade cladding panels, use a mild household detergent or a soft soap solution diluted and leave for a maximum of 10 minutes depending on the nature of the surface and degree of soiling (ensure that the cleaning product does not dry into the surface). Then rinse well with clean water using a sponge or soft cloth or garden hose.
Heavy soiling may require specialised cleaning agents but please avoid using abrasive materials such as scourers or steel wool and ammonia-based cleaners which may damage the surface.
A well-constructed façade not only shields the building envelope against wind and rain but also acts as a thermal barrier.
EQUITONE fibre cement cladding contributes to the thermal characteristics, when installed as part of a Rainscreen ventilated cladding system, helping reduce heat transfer into the building in the summer and out of the building in the winter.
